UNI

Inspired by the elusive sea urchin, the Uni Dress is a hybrid 3D-printed and macrame halter with an accompanying skirt that exposes and protects the wearer with intention.

Combining both digital and traditional garment-making techniques, the Uni Dress is an exploration in part-to-whole relationships. Each 3D-printed component is connected to the other with a series of intricate macrame knotting.

As a final exercise to bridge both fashion and architecture, the Uni Dress was reimagined as a facade and shading system for buildings. Rotating fins with vermin-proof spikes act as a protective shield for the building occupants.
